SW Sam Jackson Park Rd. to OHSU reopens after two months of repairs
Portland Bureau of Transportation Traffic Advisory - September 2, 2011The Portland Bureau of Transportation reopened SW Sam Jackson Park Road today after an eight-week project to repair an unstable hillside, replace a retaining wall, and rebuild the adjacent roadway. The project was completed on-schedule.

Portland Bureau of Transportation Traffic Advisory - August 26, 2011The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation is preparing to re-open SW Sam Jackson Park Road slightly ahead of schedule after an eight-week project to repair an unstable hillside, replace a retaining wall, and rebuild the adjacent roadway. The road will be re-opened on Friday, September 2, by 5:00 p.m.

Portland Bureau of Transportation News Release - July 7, 2011PORTLAND, Ore. - The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation is preparing for a retaining wall project on SW Sam Jackson Park Road that will close the road beginning Monday, July 11. This road is the primary, preferred access route to Oregon Health & Science University and Shriners Hospital for Children on Marquam Hill. Geotechnical engineers hired by the city believe that the heavy spring rains of 2011 have caused earth movement to accelerate and unless measures are taken to address this situation, the shifting hillside could cause the road to become unusable.
